Sikkim & Darjeeling

Sikkim is the 22nd state of India came into existence with effect from 26th April, 1975. Sikkim has been divided into four districts and each district has further been bifurcated into two sub-divisions for administrative purpose. Sikkim state being a part of inner mountain ranges of Himalayas, is hilly having varied elevation ranging from 300 to 8540 meters. But the habitable areas are only up to the altitude of 2100 mtrs. Constituting only 20% of the total area of the state. The highest portion of sikkim lies in its north west direction.

Day 1

AIRPORT – DARJEELING

Meet & Greet on arrival at NJP / IXB & transfer to Darjeeling is one of the most magnificent hill resorts in the world. Evening free to explore this Hill Queen. Overnight        Halt at Darjeeling.

Day 2
DARJEELING
Early Morning at 0400 AM visit Tiger Hill famous for sunrise over Mt. Kanchenzonga, on way back visit  Ghoom Monastery, Batasia Loop and back to hotel. After breakfast visit Himalayan Mountainerring Institute, PNZ Zoological Park (closed on Thursday) Tenzing Rock, Tibetean Refuge Centre (closed on Sunday), Tea Garden (outer view), and back to hotel for lunch. Overnight Halt at Darjeeling

Day 3
DARJEELING – GANGTOK
Morning Transfer to Gangtok via Peshok Tea Gardens driving along the beautiful river Teesta. Overnight  Halt in Gangtok.  
Day 4
GANGTOK (TRIP TO TSOMGO LAKE)
Start for a day trip of Tsomgo Lake (12,400 ft.), 34 km from Gangtok city & Baba Harbhajan Singh Memorial. Tsomgo Lake freezes completely during the winter and is much revered by the locals. Overnight at      hotel in Gangtok.
Day 5
GANGTOK – LACHUNG
After breakfast drive to Lachung (altitude 8800 ft) for about 6 hours. Enroute visit Singhik View point, Seven Sisters Water Falls, Naga Water Falls. Stop on way for lunch. Reach Lachung by evening. Dinner at hotel. Overnight  halt at Lachung hotel. 
Day 6
ACHUNG -YUMTHANG EXCURSION
Early Morning drive to Yumthang – Valley (known as Valley of Flowers), Yumthang is the summer grazing ground of the Yaks & winter playgrounds of Yetis. On the way back visit Hot Spring considered to have medicinal properties. Back to resort for lunch. LACHUNG – GANGTOK (ABOUT 125KMS/6 HRS)
After Lunch  departure for the Gangtok enroute witness the Beautification of the wonderful Bheema & Twin Falls. On arrival at check-in to your hotel. Overnight at hotel in Gangtok.
Day 7
GANGTOK-PELLING
Transfer to Pelling . One can enjoy the spectacular Eastern Himalayan Range from Pelling. Overnight Halt at Pelling

Day 8
PELLING
 After breakfast start for full day sight seeing which includes Pemayangtse Monastery, Rimbi Falls, and Kanchenjunga falls, Khecheopalri Lake. Overnight  Halt at Pelling.  
Day 9

PELLING-NJP RLY STN
After breakfast transfer to NJP Stn or IXB Airport for return journey.
